The process consists of six carefully tuned steps, with which Neele-Vat guarantees speed and compliance.
- Order and documentation check
When booking an FTL shipment, Neele-Vat immediately checks the required documents:
- Commercial invoice (including HS codes and country of origin),
- Packing list,
- EORI numbers of shipper and consignee,
- Any veterinary or phytosanitary certificates.
The Neele-Vat customs department can prepare and digitally process all documents on behalf of the customer.
- Export processing in the Netherlands
Before the truck leaves, an export declaration (EX-A) is submitted to Dutch customs.
The goods are then released electronically for export.
Neele-Vat handles this operation entirely in-house through its AEO-certified customs office in Rotterdam, so shipments are processed quickly and correctly.
- Transport via fixed Brexit corridors
FTL shipments depart daily from Neele-Vat's Rotterdam, Venlo and Antwerp branches for England via fixed ferry and shortsea routes:
- Rotterdam - Harwich,
- Hook of Holland - Killingholme,
- Zeebrugge - Hull,
- Calais - Dover.
The average transit time is 24 to 48 hours, depending on the connection chosen.
- Digital border passage (GVMS)
Every FTL shipment is pre-registered in the UK Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) system.
Neele-Vat hereby generates a Goods Movement Reference (GMR), allowing the driver to cross the border without physical waiting time.
Thanks to real-time links with UK customs systems (CDS), import declarations are also submitted in advance so there is no downtime on arrival at the port.
- Delivery and proof of delivery
Upon arrival in England, the shipment is delivered directly to the consignee.
The customer receives a digital Proof of Delivery (POD) and customs clearance, including all documentation in one clear report.
- Return logistics and follow-up
After unloading, the truck can take return cargo to the Netherlands.
Neele-Vat then takes care of the re-import declaration or the required T1 document. This keeps the transport process circular, efficient and fully compliant with legislation.
