The logistics process is fully geared to temperature stability, speed and control.
- Booking and temperature setting
When a shipment is registered, the temperature range is defined. In the transport management system (TMS), all settings are automatically transmitted to the trailer's refrigeration unit.
- Preparation and pre-cooling
Before the goods are loaded, the trailer is pre-cooled or pre-heated to the exact set temperature. Sensors verify that the climate in the trailer is stable before loading begins.
- Cross-docking and consolidation
In the conditioned transshipment centers in Rotterdam and Venlo, Neele-Vat bundles shipments destined for the same region in Italy. This optimizes routes and reduces costs, without compromising quality or speed.
- Transport via fixed corridors
Daily departures connect the Netherlands with Italian regions such as:
- Lombardy (Milan, Bergamo, Brescia)
- Emilia-Romagna (Bologna, Parma, Modena)
- Veneto (Verona, Padua, Vicenza)
- Tuscany and Lazio (Florence, Rome)
Average transit time: 48 to 72 hours, depending on service level and final destination.
- Real-time monitoring
During transport, temperature and location are continuously monitored via GPS and sensors in the trailer. In case of deviations, Neele-Vat 's control tower receives an immediate notification so that action can be taken before the temperature goes outside the tolerance range.
- Delivery and reporting
Upon delivery, the customer receives a digital Proof of Delivery (POD) as well as a temperature report (data logger) demonstrating that the cold chain remained uninterrupted, a requirement for GDP and HACCP compliance.
