- Booking and document control in the Netherlands
Every shipment starts with a check of all documents:
- commercial invoice,
- packing list,
- HS codes,
- statement of origin,
- EORI numbers.
Neele-Vat 's customs experts check whether the documents comply with EU and UK regulations and take care of the export declaration (EX-A) on behalf of the shipper.
- Consolidation in Dutch cross-docks
Goods are collected from multiple shippers and brought together in Neele-Vat's groupage hubs in Rotterdam and Venlo. There, cross-docking takes place: shipments are bundled per region in England.
Each pallet is given a barcode and tracked through the Transport Management System (TMS). As a result, both shipper and importer maintain full insight into the shipment.
- Customs clearance and border preparation
Before departure, all shipments are digitally registered in the UK GVMS (Goods Vehicle Movement Service) system.
Neele-Vat takes care of:
- export documents (EX-A),
- import documents (IM-A or CDS),
- GMR number (Goods Movement Reference),
- and fiscal representation if the importer does not have VAT registration in the UK.
So the truck at the border can pass through without delay.
- Fixed ferry connections between the Netherlands and England
Neele-Vat offers daily departures via fixed routes:
- Rotterdam - Harwich,
- Hook of Holland - Killingholme,
- Zeebrugge - Hull,
- Calais - Dover.
The average transit time from the Netherlands to England is 48 to 72 hours, depending on the destination.
- Distribution within England
Upon arrival at the port, the shipment is handed over to Neele-Vat partners in the UK.
From hubs near London, Birmingham and Manchester, distribution is carried out with track & trace, time window delivery and digital Proof of Delivery (POD).
- Return logistics and packaging returns
For importers who want to return packaging, empty pallets or return goods to the Netherlands, Neele-Vat offers integrated return logistics. This lowers CO₂ emissions and reduces empty trips.
