Neele-Vat is your partner for ISPM 15 treatments
What is ISPM 15?
Because wood is a natural product, it can contain living vermin. These organisms and parasites can travel with wooden packaging and cause damage at the destination. The ISPM 15 describes the treatment methods with which the wood must be treated so that it is ensured that no harmful organisms are present in the wood. The wood is certified with an imprint with the ISPM 15 logo as well as the country of origin. Certified wood that is reused or after repair must be recertified.
ISPM 15 HT Treatments
Since 2015, heat treatment (HT) has been the only treatment that may be used for common applications. The wood must be heated for at least 30 minutes so that its core reaches a temperature of 56 ° C. This will kill the insects in all life stages.
CA Treatment (Controlled Atmosphere)
The controlled atmosphere (CA) technique is used to control pests in food supplies and is extremely suitable for both preventive and curative treatments. This technique is based on creating an oxygen-poor regime/content in a specially constructed gas-tight treatment chamber.
The products are placed in these treatment rooms, after which the oxygen level and temperature are adjusted to the specific insect and product to be treated. In this way, we can guarantee a kill rate of 99.997% of the insects in all life stages: eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults.
The controlled atmosphere technology is environmentally friendly, without the use of toxic gases and leaves no residue. Another aspect of this technique is that no resistance can occur in the pest population.
Of course, you can also contact Neele-Vat Logistics for BMSB treatments. Look for more information on our BMSB (HT) treatment page.
