Wooden packaging materials such as pallets, crates, dunnage or crates, for example, may contain wood-damaging insects. This brings
Peterson Pest Control many years of experience with Heat Treatments. Following the EcO2® technology, we offer both standard Heat Treatments as well as Heat Treatments that allow you to meet the ISPM 15 standard. Peterson Pest Control is SMHV registered (Stichting Markering Houten Verpakkingen).
ISPM 15 (International Phytosanitary Measure 15) is a phytosanitary regulation established by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). The regulation describes the treatment of wood used in the international movement of goods for the purpose of killing organisms such as parasites in the wood.
In many products, especially those of agricultural origin, insects occur or pests may descend on these goods. This poses risks to food safety, which is why pest control is very important. Following the simple principle that without oxygen, insects and rodents cannot survive, it is possible to control products using a Controlled Atmosphere method, or low oxygen method.
Products
We place your goods (e.g. (organic) rice, nuts, seeds or dried fruit) in a so-called treatment chamber where we reduce the oxygen (O2) content from the normal 20.9% to below 1%.
Furniture, pieces of art and historical objects
Furniture and frames can also contain insects that attack the wood. A low oxygen method is ideally suited for treating these types of objects.
Peterson and our sister company Control Union, with nearly one hundred years of operation in all phases of global food chains, see that pest control has increasingly become an integral part of commodity and food chains. For more information check out the Peterson Pest Control website: click here.
