Driving bans and accessibility
In Denmark, there are no general driving bans on Sundays and public holidays for freight traffic. Transport can in principle take place all year round without national weekend restrictions. However, specific rules do apply in the capital Copenhagen. In the city center, there is a driving ban for trucks with a permitted total weight of more than 18 tons. There is also a night parking ban between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. for trucks and buses with a total weight of 3.5 tons and more.
Special circumstances
Additional restrictions apply to transports exceeding the maximum permitted dimensions and weights (width 2.55 m, length 18.75 m / 16.50 m and a maximum weight of 44 tons for vehicle combinations with five or more axles). For this type of exceptional transport, driving bans may be in effect on public holidays and under special circumstances. In such cases, prior authorization is required and additional route and time restrictions must be taken into account.
