Driving bans on Holidays and Special Circumstances
For the transportation of goods exceeding the maximum permitted dimensions and weights (width 2.55 m, length 18.75/16.50 m, weight 44 tons for vehicle combinations with 5 or more axles), driving bans are in effect on the following holidays and in special circumstances:

Algemene driving bans:
In Switzerland, driving is not permitted on Sundays and public holidays throughout the day, from midnight to midnight.
There is also a nighttime driving ban for truck traffic weighing more than 3.5 tons from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
During specific periods, such as around Christmas, the New Year and the national holiday on Aug. 1, there are more extensive driving bans in effect over several days.
Cantonal prohibitions do not apply to through traffic.
