At Neele-Vat, our area of expertise lies in the transportation and warehousing of hazardous materials.

Safety is in our DNA. The storage of packaged hazardous goods is subject to the PGS 15 guidelines. To this end, Neele-Vat has several specialised warehouses with facilities to safely store various hazardous goods. In addition, our employees have a lot of knowledge about the storage of hazardous goods. Our storage and warehousing capacity spans 39,000 square meters, providing approximately 66,000 europallet spaces, in addition to a full-service terminal covering an area of 13,000 square meters. Storing hazardous materials is a critical aspect of many industries, but it also comes with inherent risks. That’s why it’s essential to follow regulations and guidelines for the safe handling and storage of dangerous goods.

Neele-Vat is ISO9001:2008, AEO and SQAS certified. The Maasvlakte site falls under the Major Accident Hazards Decree 2015 classified under the VR company type.

The Dutch standard PGS15 provides comprehensive guidelines for the safe storage and handling of hazardous materials, including requirements for the construction and layout of storage facilities, ventilation systems, and fire protection measures. With our expertise in the transportation and storage of hazardous materials, we aim to provide valuable insights and best practices for the safe storage of hazardous materials, and help you mitigate risks associated with warehousing dangerous goods.

Storage & Transport

Environmental permit

Compliance with the environmental permit requirements and PGS-15 guidelines is necessary for storage and transhipment of dangerous goods. The (tank) containers are stored on the outdoor terrain, and a limited number of vehicles are also parked there. The Gas Measuring Station on site measures sea containers for harmful gases and vapours, and fumigation of containers occurs on the outdoor area. It’s crucial to adhere to the established guidelines for hazardous substances and CMR substances.

ADR

Within Neele-Vat, we have years of experience in the transport and storage of dangerous goods. Our people work with this on a daily basis. As a result, we can also transport your ADR shipment without any problems. Depending on the destination, certain UN numbers and ADR classes are excluded. For all destinations, the transport of ADR classes 1 (Explosive), 6.2 (Infectious) and 7 (Radioactive) is always excluded. For Storage, Class 1 (Explosive), 6.2 (Infectious) and 7 (Radioactive) are always excluded.
