Regulated Air Cargo Agent
Neele-Vat is a Regulated agent and is authorized to certify air cargo as secure. This means your shipment enters the secure air cargo chain without additional security screening at the airport. This saves time, reduces costs, and minimizes the risk of your flight departing without your cargo.
Security checks are conducted at the point of origin, not just at the airport.
What the “Regulated agent” status means for your shipment
A Regulated agent may declare air cargo secure on its own, in accordance with established procedures and by trained personnel. Without that status, your shipment arrives as unsecured cargo and is subject to a security screening at the airport. At Neele-Vat , this security clearance takes place earlier in the process. Your cargo enters the supply chain as secure air freight and retains that status all the way to the cargo hold. If you are registered as a Known consignor, not every shipment needs to be screened.
- As a Regulated agent, we declare your cargo as secure ourselves, without the need for additional security screening at the airport
- Guidance on the “Known consignor” program: we’ll assist you with the application; once approved, it’s valid for five years.
- AEO-certified, with in-house customs clearance and bonded storage, so your shipment won’t get held up anywhere

Frequently asked questions air freight
How long does international air freight take, on average?
International air freight typically takes several days. The exact transit time depends on the destination, flight connection, and customs clearance. Door-to-door delivery usually takes longer than airport-to-airport transport.
What is the difference between airport-to-airport and door-to-door air freight?
With airport-to-airport service, the shipment is transported between two airports. Door-to-door service also includes pickup, further handling, and delivery to your address. As a result, the total transit time is longer.
Is a direct flight faster than air freight via a hub?
Yes, a direct flight is generally faster because no layover is required. When traveling via a hub, additional time may be needed for transshipment and connecting to the next flight.
Can air freight be delivered within 24 hours?
Yes, delivery within 24 hours may be possible on certain routes. This depends on available flights, the pickup time, the destination, and customs clearance. A 24-hour delivery must be confirmed in advance.
What happens if my shipment misses the flight?
If your shipment is not available on time or misses a flight, a new flight connection must be found. As a result, delivery may take place later than originally planned.
Does customs clearance affect the delivery time of air freight?
Yes, customs inspections and document processing can extend delivery times. Accurate and complete documentation helps minimize delays but does not prevent every inspection.
Is express air freight faster than regular air freight?
Yes, express air freight can be faster because the shipment is given priority and scheduled on an appropriate flight. The actual time savings depend on the route and available capacity.
Can Neele-Vat provide an exact delivery time for air freight in advance?
Neele-Vat can provide an estimated delivery time for your shipment in advance. An exact delivery time is only possible when the selected service and transport conditions permit it.
