What is chargeable weight and how is it calculated?
Chargeable weight is the weight on which freight charges are calculated and can be based on actual weight or volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is calculated as:
Volumetric weight (kg) = CBM × 167. The carrier compares the actual weight and volumetric weight and uses the higher of the two as the chargeable weight.
