The Brexit is coming

Brexit is a fact and as of 1-1-2021 we will have to deal with customs documents. Regardless of hard or soft brexit.

Some aspects are still subject to agreement between UK and EU governments, but we are preparing for a possible "no deal Brexit."

This requires good preparation by everyone in the chain, knowledge of the flows and accurate data for documentation. Our (own ) customs brokers have extensive experience in customs procedures. Information and software interfaces needed to provide full coverage to our customers. To achieve a smooth and successful handling of goods flows we will encourage our customers to let Neele-Vat Transport take care of the complete customs documentation. Indeed, short lines between customer, customs agent and carrier is essential to keep the flow of goods moving.

If we may take care of your tax return we need the following information :

Required Data in case we need your documentation ( import, export documentation or both ):

• Contract direct representation for Export and Import or both (one-time )
• Commercial Invoice with the Address details of the buyer and seller +EORI no of both,
• Specified value of goods by commodity type, INCO Term + location to which the Incoterm applies,
• Packing list, incl:
  • HS Code,
  • Detailed Commodity Description,
  • Number of pallets ( including size per pallet ),
  • Number of packages,
  • Gross Weight, Net Weight,
  • Type of packaging + Packaging Code,
  • Country of Origin, Currency

If the customs documentation is handled entirely by you or your customer then in case of import from the UK ( and as of 01-07 probably also for Export to the UK ) we as a carrier need the following information :

• MRN number(s)
• Customs status ( T1, T2 (+ MRN in case of Transit goods ) , IM, TA or RP )
• Commercial Invoice with the Address details of the buyer and seller + EORI no of both,
• Packing list, incl :
  • Detailed Commodity Description,
  • HS Code,
  • Number of pallets ( including dimension per pallet ),
  • Number of packages,
  • Type of Packing + Packing Code
  • Gross weight
  • Physosanitary or Veterinary goods designation

The above in connection with the mandatory Summary Declaration / ENS ( Entry Summery Declaration ). This concerns the safety and security data to be submitted by shipping companies. Since this data it will in all likelihood be applicable as of 01-07-2021 also in case of Export to the UK, we will ask you to submit your data for export also in this way so that we can prepare well together.

Please note that the regular flow of goods from the continent to the UK and vice versa requires an Import document in addition to an Export document. To prepare the Import document, the declarant must receive the correct shipping route and UCN number from the shipping company, among other things!

Therefore, for smooth handling of the flow of goods, it is also wise to have the import document prepared by us.

The price of the documentation and the above depends on how you as a customer present this data to us, Currently we are working on an electronic data system which allows you as a customer to present your data to us digitally. The degree of automation will partly determine the price for the documentation.
