Neele-Vat Logistics, one of the larger logistics service providers in the Rotterdam region, opened a new branch in Oradea, Romania as of March 1, 2011: Neele-Vat Logistics srl. Traffic to and from the two Balkan countries Romania and Bulgaria has grown spectacularly in recent years. With this new branch Neele-Vat Logistics will be able to optimally serve the Romanian and Bulgarian import and export market to and from Western Europe. The other branches are located in Rotterdam Hoogvliet, Rotterdam Botlek, Amsterdam, Zeebrugge and Moscow.
Romanian employees of Neele-Vat Logistics srl. are tasked with further expanding its Balkan operations. Neele-Vat Logistics now offers daily departures to all destinations in the Balkans. A fleet of 50 tractor units is deployed to carry out Romanian operations. The new branch in Oradea will be managed by Mr. Paul Rovers, who as a Dutchman has extensive experience in Balkan traffic.
"We see expanding our Eastern Europe operations as an absolute spearhead of our policy for the coming years," said managing director Peter Vinke. "Many of our customers are shifting their production from Western Europe to Eastern Europe. But now also from the Far East to Eastern Europe. We are also seeing a sharp decline in Western European transport capacity, due in part to the aging population. With the current rising economy, we therefore need to secure our capacity on the long distances in Europe."
