Peter Vinke, director of Neele-Vat Logistics, recently received four incentive vouchers for the development of a new ICT link. He received these vouchers because the link uses the industry standards for electronic exchange of transport orders and invoices (paperless transport).
Neele-Vat maintains a large number of links with customers and fellow companies. By making greater use of standardization, the logistics service provider not only saves on (ICT) costs, but also optimizes information exchange in the sector. 'As a company, we provided a lot of input in the creation of the standards and implemented them as a matter of course. But it is important that more parties opt for paperless transport," Vinke said.
To simplify the use of electronic data interchange, sector standards are important. Companies and ICT suppliers can conform to these. With electronic data exchange, less customer-specific ICT development is required, resulting in lower costs. In addition, electronic exchange brings practical benefits; for example, the use of e-mail, fax and telephone decreases significantly.
TLN, together with Evofenedex and Beurtvaartadres, is giving substance to the development of standards for transport orders, invoices and the AVC-CMR waybill (TransFollow). The Neutral Logistics Information Platform is also an advocate of paperless transport and hopes to stimulate this development with the use of said vouchers. Companies that can demonstrate that a unique link has been realized, based on the sector standards, are eligible for a voucher of € 1,000. A maximum of five vouchers will be issued per company.
TLN and Beurtvaartadres see the NLIP incentive voucher as a useful tool for entrepreneurs to create the necessary preconditions for paperless transport. Several parties are often involved in the development of paperless transport. This requires the necessary efforts in terms of implementation. The vouchers then offer additional (financial) support.
