Neele-Vat has decided to further invest in intermodal equipment for its groupage, LTL, and full truckload (FTL) services from the Benelux to Italy. In addition to its existing daily road transport services and a fleet of 220 7.20-meter swap bodies, Neele-Vat is therefore investing in 25 new intermodal XL trailers. The swap bodies will primarily be used for heavy cargo bound for Italy, while the new trailers will enable existing cargo flows to shift from road to rail with increasing frequency.
In addition to the investment for the Italian market, Neele-Vat has also purchased 20 swap bodies measuring 13.60 meters. These are being used exclusively on the Rotterdam–Munich rail route and back. Furthermore, it was recently announced that the frequency of this rail service will be increased to six times per week. As a result, the connection aligns perfectly with Neele-Vat broader intermodal plans.
“In this way, we are further responding to the growing need for sustainable logistics solutions,” said Peter Vinke, director of transportation. “For our clients, this means not only a significant reduction in CO2 emissions but also the ability to load significantly more weight. In addition, we can offer transit times that are virtually the same as those of road transport. In this way, we combine sustainability with capacity and reliable transit times.”
