Groupage transport to Germany works by combining smaller shipments from multiple clients into a single truck. Through our road transport service, you can ship pallets without having to reserve an entire truck. Because you share the cargo space, the shipping costs per shipment can be lower.
The transport process begins with registering your shipment. This involves specifying the loading location, destination, number of pallets, dimensions, weight, and desired delivery date. Our specialists then assess which groupage connection best meets your transport needs.
After pickup, the goods are transported to a cross-dock facility if necessary. At this transshipment location, shipments are sorted and consolidated with goods bound for similar destinations. The goods are then transported to Germany, after which they are delivered to the recipient either directly or via local distribution.
Groupage is particularly suitable for regular, smaller pallet shipments to destinations such as the Ruhr region, Hamburg, Berlin, and Munich. The volume of goods, the destination, and the desired delivery time determine whether groupage, LTL, or FTL is the best fit. The available departure days and expected transit time are agreed upon in advance.
Additional transport conditions may apply to hazardous materials, temperature-sensitive products, and pharmaceutical goods. The necessary facilities and available transport capacity must be confirmed in advance.
Upon delivery, a confirmation of receipt can be provided in accordance with the agreed-upon terms. Depending on your logistics needs, groupage can be combined with storage, order picking, or additional warehouse operations. Connections to ocean freight, air freight, or customs support can also be explored when the flow of goods requires it.
