Brussels Airport showed strong growth in cargo transport in January 2025. A total of 59,385 metric tons of cargo was handled, representing an 8% increase compared to the same month a year earlier.
This positive development underscores the airport’s role as one of the most important logistics hubs in Europe.
Air freight volume showed an impressive increase of 11%, reaching 51,526 metric tons. This growth is partly due to the rise in international shipments and the ongoing expansion of cargo services at the airport.
In addition, various airlines continue to invest in additional cargo capacity and more efficient logistics processes, which contributes to the attractiveness of Brussels Airport as a cargo hub.
In addition to strong growth in air freight, freight volume via road transport also contributed to the positive figures. This segment, which forms a crucial link in the logistics chain, ensured that total freight handling at the airport was significantly higher than in January 2024.
The combination of efficient air and road transport options makes Brussels Airport a strategic hub for freight transport within and outside Europe.
Brussels Airport continues to develop as a key player in international logistics. Through ongoing investments in infrastructure and innovative logistics solutions, the airport aims to further strengthen its position. The growing demand for air cargo capacity and the strong logistical collaboration between different modes of transport make the airport an essential hub for global trade.
