Relaxation of CSRD reporting requirement gets industry thinking
At the recently held Multimodal Transport Expo, it became clear that European decision-making around the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is leading to renewed discussion within the transport and logistics industry. While many companies have been preparing in recent years for extensive reporting on environmental impact, social responsibility and governance, it now appears that Brussels is significantly relaxing the rules for certain companies. Organizations that were previously required to report are now falling out of scope or getting a delay.
While this may feel like administrative relief to many, it also presents the industry with a fundamental question: do we stop reporting, scale down or continue?
At Neele-Vat, we believe that sustainability is not a temporary obligation, but a structural responsibility. Regardless of legal requirements, we continue to invest in initiatives that contribute to a more sustainable supply chain. Not only to meet customer and stakeholder expectations, but mainly because we are convinced that future-proof logistics is only possible if sustainability is an integral part of our business operations.
